High-Performance, Mould-Resistant Silicone Sealant for Sanitary Applications

EVERBUILD® EVERFLEX® 500 Bath & Sanitary Silicone is a premium quality, mid modulus, acetoxy cure silicone sealant that cures quickly to provide a permanently flexible, high-strength waterproof seal. Specifically designed for sanitary applications and areas of high humidity, it contains a powerful fungicide to prevent mould growth.

Product Details

  • Colours: White, Translucent, Ivory, Sandstone, Manhattan Grey.
  • Packaging: 295ml cartridge.
  • Density: Approximately 1.0 g/cm³.
  • Shore A Hardness: 10–20.
  • Tensile Strength: 1.2 MPa.
  • Elongation at Break: >500% (DIN 53504).
  • Movement Capability: ±20%.
  • Service Temperature: -40°C to +150°C.
  • Skin Time: Approximately 10 minutes at 20°C.
  • Curing Rate: Approximately 3mm per 24 hours.
  • Coverage: Approximately 10 linear metres for a 9 x 9mm fillet joint.
  • Shelf Life: 24 months from date of manufacture when stored in cool, dry conditions between +5°C and +25°C.

Application Instructions

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and other contaminants. Remove any loose or flaking surface coatings, old sealant, and mastic joints.
  2. Priming: Porous surfaces may require priming. Test a small area first.
  3. Application: Cut the tip of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the thread. Attach the nozzle and cut at a 45° angle to the desired bead size. Apply using a standard sealant gun, maintaining an even pressure and consistent angle.
  4. Smoothing: Smooth down within 10 minutes of application using a spatula or piece of wood wetted with a soap and water solution. For a neat finish, masking tape can be applied to both sides of the joint and removed within 5 minutes of application.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for use in conjunction with bitumen or asphalt.
  • Not suitable for highly porous surfaces such as new concrete or stonework without priming.
  • Not suitable for substrates that may bleed oils, solvents, or plasticisers.
  • Do not use in the vicinity of, or in conjunction with, the edge sealant of double-glazed units.
  • Not suitable for perimeter pointing of uPVC.
  • Not suitable for use on soft metals such as lead or brass.
  • Not overpaintable.

Cleaning of Tools

Clean tools and excess sealant immediately with white spirit. Cured sealant must be removed mechanically or with EVERFLEX SILICONE EATER.
