Jackets & Outerwear

Waterproof jackets, fleeces, softshell jackets and bodywarmers for site workers. Durable outerwear designed for outdoor trades and construction professionals.

Jackets for site work

Trade-grade jackets selected for the realities of on-site work: windproof, water-repellent, breathable and tough enough to survive daily van life. From lightweight waterproof shells for sudden showers to insulated softshells for cold morning starts. Full size range from XS to 4XL available across most styles, with layering-friendly cuts that allow room for fleeces underneath.

How to choose the right jacket

For most UK conditions, a softshell jacket is the best all-rounder: windproof, water-repellent and flexible enough for lifting and fitting work. Keep a lightweight waterproof in the van for heavier rain. Add a fleece mid-layer for cold mornings. If you plan to layer, order one size up from your normal chest measurement. The layering system: base layer (moisture-wicking tee), mid layer (fleece or gilet), outer layer (softshell or waterproof).
Trade Tip

Site tip: On commercial glazing sites, Class 2 hi-vis workwear (yellow or orange) is typically required under CDM site rules. Check your site health and safety plan before starting work — non-compliant workwear can result in site exclusion and invalidate your liability cover.

Frequently Asked Questions

What jacket is best for window fitting?

A softshell jacket is the best all-rounder for most UK conditions: windproof, water-repellent and flexible for lifting and fitting. Keep a lightweight waterproof in the van for heavier rain.

Are these jackets waterproof or water-resistant?

Both types available. Waterproof jackets have sealed seams and taped zips for sustained rain. Softshells are water-resistant (DWR coating) handling light rain but will soak through in prolonged downpours. Check individual product descriptions.

What size should I order for layering?

Order one size up from your normal chest measurement if you plan to wear a fleece underneath. This gives room for the mid-layer without restricting arm movement when carrying frames.
