Biokil Crown Sealing Rope is a 10mm diameter, high-tack butyl rope designed to provide a watertight seal around fixing plugs and membrane joints within cavity drainage and damp-proofing systems. Supplied in a 5-metre roll, this flexible sealing rope is ideal for use with Biokil Crown and Newton cavity drainage membranes to prevent water tracking through or around plug fixings and to seal overlaps between membrane sheets. Essential for maintaining system integrity in basement and below-ground waterproofing projects.

Application Instructions

1. Prepare Surface: Ensure membranes and plug locations are clean and free from dust or grease.
2. Plug Sealing: Wrap sealing rope around the fixing plug shank or seat the plug into the rope for compression.
3. Joint Sealing: Apply the rope along membrane overlaps and press firmly to ensure a watertight bond before fixing or taping.
4. Finishing: Apply additional Newton Overtape or Biokil Crown Sealing Tape if required for detailing reinforcement.

Limitations

• Not suitable as a standalone waterproofing solution; always use as part of a complete membrane system.
• Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C or to wet, frozen, or contaminated surfaces.
