Multi-Purpose, Self-Levelling Floor Compound for Internal Smoothing Applications

Sikafloor®-122 Level Universal is a one-part, cement-based, self-levelling compound designed to smooth and level uneven internal rigid floors prior to the application of final floor coverings. Suitable for a wide range of substrates including concrete, sand/cement screeds, and dense tile surfaces, it provides a protein-free, low-shrinkage solution ideal for both commercial and domestic environments.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Self-Smoothing: Highly fluid formulation allows for easy manual or pumped application.
  • Fast Setting: Walkable in 2–4 hours and ready to overlay in approximately 8 hours at 20°C.
  • Protein & Formaldehyde Free: Ideal for sensitive areas including hospitals and food preparation zones.
  • Low Shrinkage: Reduces the risk of cracking and ensures a strong, durable base layer.
  • Versatile Substrate Compatibility: Suitable for application over concrete, screeds (not anhydrite), ceramic tiles, terrazzo, and quarry tiles.
  • Underfloor Heating Compatible: Can be applied beneath heating cables or pipes (not for embedding).

Application Instructions

  1. Surface Preparation: Substrates must be sound, dry, clean, and free of contaminants or laitance. Prime porous substrates with SikaBond® PVA+ diluted 1:4. Non-porous substrates should be mechanically roughened and coated with undiluted PVA.
  2. Mixing: Add 3.4–3.5 L of clean water per 20 kg of powder. Always add powder to water. Mix with a spiral paddle for a minimum of 3 minutes to achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency.
  3. Application: Pour mixed material onto the floor and spread evenly with a steel trowel. Apply within 20 minutes. Use a spiked roller to remove air and improve finish.
  4. Curing: Protect from moisture and draughts for at least 24 hours. Avoid premature drying in warm conditions by misting the surface if needed.

Limitations

  • Not suitable as a final wearing surface.
  • Do not apply over floating floors, vinyl, insulation boards, anhydrite screeds, or asphalt substrates.
  • Do not exceed recommended thickness (6 mm per coat).
  • For interior use only; not suitable for exterior applications or rising damp conditions.
  • Do not use as a damp-proof membrane (DPM).

Health & Safety

Always wear appropriate PPE including gloves, goggles, and a dust mask during mixing and application. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full guidance.
